Remote work has specific legal conditions.

The official description says E33G is for staying in Indonesia while carrying out duties for a company located outside Indonesia. This summary does not determine whether a particular job, income source or business activity qualifies.

Who should research E33G?

Travellers considering a longer stay while working remotely for an employer outside Indonesia should review E33G alongside other limited-stay categories. Confirm the official definition and requirements before relying on a digital-nomad label used by a service provider.

Confirm the rules before you apply

  • Passport valid for at least six months.
  • Recent colour photo, CV and travel itinerary.
  • Three-month bank statement showing at least USD 2,000 (or equivalent) for living expenses.
  • Employment agreement with a company established outside Indonesia.
  • Bank evidence of salary or income of at least USD 60,000 per year.

The official immigration page also sets conditions on the work performed and the limited-stay permit. Confirm file formats and current requirements in the e-Visa portal.

Application steps

  1. Check that the employer is based outside Indonesia and that the work arrangement matches E33G.
  2. Prepare the passport, photo, CV, itinerary, employment agreement and required bank evidence.
  3. Submit the online application and pay the official charges through the Immigration e-Visa portal.
  4. Wait for the Immigration decision, then confirm the permit dates and conditions before travelling.

Our assistance includes route review, document checks and application preparation and submission. Immigration makes the final decision.

Do not use a tourist visa as a shortcut

Visitor visas prohibit certain local commercial activities and do not automatically cover remote or local employment. If you plan to work, compare the conditions of the correct limited-stay route and obtain professional advice before travelling.
