Independent guidance for Bali & Indonesia • Always check current official requirements

Your residence country is useful context.

Indonesia visa eligibility is generally checked against the nationality and travel document you will use. Living in another country does not change the passport you travel on.

Use this guide for orientation only. Confirm requirements for your passport and circumstances with Indonesian Immigration or the relevant Indonesian mission.

What country do you live in?

Choosing a residence country can help you organize travel and application details. It cannot tell you which Indonesia visa category applies by itself.

Choose where you live.

We’ll show what to check next.

What residence can affect

  • Where you normally depart from and the practical travel documents you carry.
  • Which Indonesian embassy or consulate may handle a consular question, if one is needed.
  • Whether you need to prepare evidence of lawful residence for a consular process. Requirements vary by mission and case.
  • Your contact details and the country you plan to return to after Bali.

What it does not change

A residence permit from another country does not automatically change the visa access attached to your passport. For example, living in Australia with a Moroccan passport does not make the traveller an Australian passport holder for Indonesia’s nationality lists.

Check the travel document you will present, and ask the relevant Indonesian mission about any residence-based filing requirements before submitting an application.

Next: check your passport
